Happy Easter Everyone!

Remember, the Selectmen’s Office will be closed on Monday, April 21.

On Tuesday, April 22 from 3 to 4pm a representative from Senator Ayotte’s office will be at Town Hall to meet with Albany citizens.  If you would like schedule an appointment you can call Michael Scala at 752-7702.  Otherwise, come down during the hour listed above.

Gibson Center: Are you interested in going to Washington, DC?  There will be an informational meeting after lunch on Tuesday.  Or, perhaps you’re more into the arts. The Gibson bus will be going to the Currier Museum of Art on Wednesday.  Call 356-3231 to reserve a seat.  On Thursday, there’s a BINGO-Pizza Party at 3pm.  Bring a can as a donation to the Feinstein Challenge.  Please call so they know how much pizza to order. Token prizes will be awarded to winners.  And, on Friday there’s a dance party at 2pm.  Again, bring a can as a donation.

Library: The book sale continues all this week. On Monday at 10:15am the AM Book Group will meet.  At 1pm the MWV Jewish Community Group will meet.  At 6:30pm Michelle Delucia will talk about being Seed Wise.  On Tuesday Story Time for Twos continues at 10:30am.  At 1pm the Parkinson’s Support Group will meet and at 4pm there’s a Plant a Seed Party.  Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30am it’s Story Time for Babies.  On Thursday at the same hour it’s Story Time for Threes and Fours.

UNH Extension is still seeking volunteers to lead 4-H SPIN Clubs.  If you have a talent or interest you’d like to share with the young people of this area, call 447-3834.  A ServSafe course will be offered on May 13 at the Lemon Grass Restaurant in Moultonborough from 8:30am to 5pm.  You must pre-register by April 30.  Go to https://www.events.unh.edu/RegistrationForm.pm:event_id=15800.

Next Saturday, April 26 looks like a busy day.  At 1pm at the American Legion Post 46 on Tasker Hill Road there’s a fundraiser for Starting Home, the transitional housing project for homeless veterans.  Come and learn about the program and help support it by participating in the Chinese auction.  That’s where lucky people can win prizes donated by local businesses by merely having their ticket chosen. Then there’s the Honey-Do Auction taking place at the Red Jacket from 5 to 8:30pm Saturday evening.  There’s a $30 charge that includes a buffet dinner and the opportunity to bid on items and services you’d like to have done.  The bidding will be for professional services by local businesses.  All proceeds go to MWV Habitat for Humanity and Educational programs.  Thomas D. Troon and Sons will be conducting the auction.

 

But wait, there’s also Contra Dancing at 7pm at Ossipee Town Hall that evening. Music will be by Puckerbrush.  No need to fret. The dance will be taught to you.  For more information, call 539-6460.

Every time I think the winter is finally over, down comes the snow.  But whether it’s in the 30s or in the 60s, it’s still a good idea to get out and enjoy our wonderful valley.  Have a great week.
