The selectmen did meet on Wednesday. To view the meeting please go to albanytownmeetings.com. At the meeting Kathy Vizard reported that an updated welfare assistance budget for the town was done. Pricing of different sized area apartments were used to fix the size of the budget. Though Jack Rose was unable to attend the yearly Fryeburg Airport meeting/dinner, Richard Hiland reported that it was well attended and informative. It appears this area uses the airport even more than Fryeburg. Jack asked the selectmen to allow the Historical Society to feature its salable articles (hats, shirts, books) in the lobby of town hall. He asked too that Kathy Vizard be permitted to collect the monies for the items sold. The selectmen discussed the ramifications of this…would other groups want the same privilege?, but came to the conclusion that there was a precedent for these sales as the Historical Society has long sold their books at town hall, and passed the motion. You can soon buy your items at town hall.
