The selectmen, on Wednesday, reviewed Chief Solomon’s suggestions issued after the safety inspection was done. There was a discussion with Colleen Cormack, Albany School Board Treasurer, regarding Albany’s school payments to Conway. As happens every year at this time, funds in the town budget are low, yet the town has always managed to make its payments to Conway. Possibilities for avoiding this end of year problem were discussed. One was to have the town to take out a Tax Anticipation Note. This will cost thousands of dollars in interest. Another possibility is for the town to go to bi-annual billing. This too has costs attached. In either case, this is something that needs deep consideration by the selectmen and input from the town’s people.

The town office will be closed on Tuesday, September 29 and Thursday, October 1 as Kathy will be attending classes.
