To see the Wednesday’s Selectmen’s Meeting go to albanytownmeetings.org. The first few seconds are just lines but allow it to continue.

Among the items discussed at the meeting was the grant for the security cameras at Town Hall. There are now two inside the hall and one outside in the parking area. The selectmen have asked that Kathy look into whether any more cameras are needed. The town pays half of the cost of these cameras. Dick Van Dyne has resigned from both the Conservation Commission and as Trustee of the Trust Fund. If you are interested in either of these positions, please call Kathy Vizard to let her know. The winning bidder on the recent mobile home bid has not been able to finalize the deal. Thus there will be another sealed bid. The selectmen will re-evaluate the safety inspection list given them by Chief Solomon and get quotes on repairs. Jack Rose reported that he has heard from a resident at Piper Meadows concerned with the passing zone at Route 16 and Nickerson Road. She feared it was dangerous. The town will write the DOT asking that they re-evaluate and reconsider this particular area. As Jack was unable to stay for the complete Planning Board meeting he asked Richard Hiland to fill the selectmen in on what occurred. Rick said all was going well. The board asked permission to put locks on a few cabinets that contain planning board materials and then move some items seldom used to another area giving them more room. The selectmen agreed. According to Rick, in 1979 the town voted to make the planning board membership seven people. It has fluctuated between five permanent and two alternate members since then. The selectmen agreed to re-instate the seven members and voted to make Richard Hiland and Joe Ferris permanent members. There is now a need for two alternates. If interested, please call Kathy.

The town office will be closed on Thursday, September 24 as Kathy will be attending a workshop.
