The Selectmen’s meeting on Wednesday was video taped. Check out albanytownmeetings.com for further information. A question arose at the meeting regarding the bill presented by Conway for funding Valley Vision. Conway is asking for $4200 (Time-Warner sent Albany $3800) and only $4000 was appropriated at Town Meeting in March. It was decided the selectmen would discuss the problem during their closed session. Jack Rose reported that the North Country Council were working on a Corridor Management Plan for the Presidential Range Trail. This trail does not come as far as Albany, but is an important addition to the forest. Albany’s VFW leader, Wendell Dicey has offered his help to the town where needed. The VFW will display some veteran articles that are used at meetings and have been stored in town hall these many years. There will be a service on May 25 for Memorial Day at the flags outside the museum. Curtis Coleman will attend the Conservation Committee meeting next week to go over plans for the road in the forest. A question came up from the audience regarding difficulties with Time-Warner’s service. It was requested the selectmen bring this problem to Time-Warner as they (T-W) are responsible for the lines to people’s homes. (If you are having problems, call town hall at 447-6038 and add your complaint.)

Are you an animal lover? If so, the town is in need of a part-time dog warden. Call Kathy Vizard for more information about how you can help.

The Albany Historical Society held its meeting Wednesday. Among the ideas discussed were books and other items that would make great gifts and are interesting reading.
