No news from the town office as it was closed this week. Keep tuned.

Gibson Center: The Center is closed on Friday for the New Year. Monday the Gibson Center bus goes to the Wentworth for a lunch buffet and to watch the ice artists create beautiful carvings. Join them. On Tuesday there’s a trip to Stonehurst for dinner at 5 p.m. Call 356-3132 if you’ve not made arrangements already. On Wednesday at noon there will be a celebration of the 12th day of Christmas with songs and door prizes. At 12:30 p.m. Care for the Caregivers will meet. Medicare counseling is available on Thursday starting at noon. Call for an appointment. On Friday the bus can pick you up at 9 a.m. for a trip to the Currier Museum and a special display of the work of Maxfield Parrish. Call 356-3231 to make arrangements.

Library: The Mountain View Knitters will meet at 10 a.m. on Monday. At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday it’s Story Time for Twos and on Wednesday at that time it’s Story Time for Wee Ones with Sara. At 4 p.m. kids can explore Spanish with Gigi. At 4:30 p.m. there’s Robotics and at 6 p.m. there’s a Social Security Workshop. On Thursday at 10:30 a.m. it’s Story Time for Threes and Fours followed at 11 a.m. with Yoga for Kids. At 6:30 p.m. Ed Parsons hosts Hiking the White Mountains. On Saturday at 10 a.m. there’s another Social Security Workshop.

Family and friends of Richard Wales were in attendance at both Furber and White Funeral Home Monday night and the First Congregational Church on Tuesday to honor Dick’s life. After the services on Tuesday morning the family accompanied the hearse to the Conway Cemetery and Dick was buried next to Elaine.
