The two remaining selectmen met on Wednesday. One of the first issues they dealt with was the open seat left by Jack Roseā€™s departure from the state. After some consideration Selectman Kelly Robitaille and Selectman Cathy Ryan voted to have Rob Nadler fill in until the March meeting when there would be a formal election to fill out the one year left on Jackā€™s seat. Rob will take office next week once heā€™s been sworn in. Kathy Vizard reported that the town has been approved for a grant to install a surveillance system in town hall. She also told the selectmen that a representative from the Bank of New Hampshire was in to set up the new on-line banking system. There was some discussion regarding the dedication of the annual report. Cathy suggested Richard Wales name. Kelly noted that he was uncomfortable using the dedication for a person as that would invariably leave someone out. No decision was made. Kelly reported that he would be meeting with Bill Edwards from Valley Vision regarding the taping of meetings. He has already been in contact with a firm out of Maine called Town Hall Stream who is already taping meetings in some NH towns. There is a monthly charge for the service. Likely there would also be a charge for such services from Valley Vision as well. At a recent Cemetery Trustee meeting the problem of the misprint at the Pasaconaway Cemetery came up. The correction to the stone will be done shortly. Lee Grant brought attention to the problem at the chapel and asked that Brian Taylor be consulted regarding the necessary fix. The selectmen noted that though they were trying to keep expenses down, they would indeed look into the problem.

Albany has said good-bye to the Roses. Jack and Camille left the valley on Tuesday for their new home in Georgia.

For those who havenā€™t seen Steve Knox recently, donā€™t be surprised if your first reaction upon seeing him reminds you of Santa Claus. It did me. Perhaps he can take over for Jack next year at the Albany Christmas Party.
