At the selectmen’s meeting it was learned the auditor will be at town hall November 18 to explain how he does the town’s audit and answer any questions the selectmen may have. You can check the information to place your bid on the mobile home in Piper Meadows by going to albanynh.org. Bids will be accepted until Monday, November 23 at noon. The selectmen decided they would come in at four if there are any bids. Senator Ayotte’s representative will be at town hall November 23 from 11:45am to 12:45pm to meet with constituents. Mary Leavitt, town treasurer, and Kathy Vizard, town administrator and town clerk, will be visiting the Bank of New Hampshire and Northway Bank to see how these banks can help Albany’s financial needs. Jack Rose reported that the Conservation Commission met with a Fish and Game officer where a final version of the land use agreement was presented. The commission voted to sent the agreement to the town’s attorney for review before signing. Jack reported on Gemini Signs charges for a new programmable sign for town hall. The sign can be remotely changed from the town hall. A 2×8 sign would cost $5000 and a 3×8 sign would cost $6500. The selectmen decided to put the purchase on a warrant article in March. Cathy Ryan reported that the Emergency management meeting will be held at town hall on Wednesday, November 18 at 1pm. She asked that residents of Albany attend the meeting. The more people that attend, the less the cost to Albany.

There will be a school board meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 5:30pm. The town offices will be closed Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day. In addition, there will be no meeting Wednesday, November 25 as it is the day before Thanksgiving.

Presently Albany tee shirts and hats are on sale at Sandie Vizard’s hair salon and DII Deli. Two hats and two shirts were sold recently. Jack Rose would like to have a glass cabinet for town hall to display and sell these products. If you have a cabinet that could display these items, please call Kathy Vizard at 447-6038.

Gibson Center: Veterans will be recognized before lunch on November 10. After lunch Dr. Jackson will present a program, Respecting Choices. Learn about options for end of life issues and making an Advanced Directive. Bring phone numbers and addresses for people you might consider designating as decision makers. The Center is closed on November 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day. Remember to sign up for the November 18 AARP Smart Drivers Class by calling 356-3231.

Library: Monday at 6:30pm Jeff Belanger, Paranormal Investigator will be speaking. On Tuesday, November 10 at 10:30am it’s Story Time for Twos. At 5pm Visualize the Life You Love. The library is closed on Wednesday. Thursday at 10:30 am it’s Story Time for Preschoolers.

UNH Extension: A ServSafe Food Managers Certificate Course and Exam will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 8:30am to 5pm at the Red Fox Bar & Grille in Jackson. To register and for more information call 447-3834.

Starting this month, physical therapy services will be available at Memorial Hospital. The hospital has partnered with Pinnacle Rehabilitation Network and North Conway Physical Therapy to provide this service.

On Sunday, November 8 at 7pm Cold River Radio Show presents live at Theater in the Wood, Jason Crippler & The Silver Linings, Anna Lombard & Dave Gutter of Armies, Brock Clarke, national best selling author and Jaed Coffin, veteran “Moth” storyteller. Tickets can be purchased on line and at White Birch Bookstore in North Conway.

Veronica Barnicoat daughter of Cindy and Peter Barnicoat received a Champion Trophy and three Reserve Champion ribbons at the horse show banquet November 1. Their granddaughter, Mya, received three Reserve Champion ribbons and Cindy, after riding for 45 years, received three Champion Trophies and four Champion ribbons. Pete will be going to the show next year. Congratulations to Cindy, Veronica and Mya.
