The Selectmen’s office will be closed at noon on Wednesday, November 26. There will not a a selectmen’s meeting that day. The office will be closed on November 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving.

The selectmen appointed Rick Hiland and Cathy Ryan as alternate members of the Planning Board. According to the selectmen, the cost of a new contract with the Conway Village Fire District is considerably higher per call than is charged to Conway yet Albany does not have rights or representation on the board. Rob was elected to be the official representative for Albany to negotiate the fire and rescue contract with the Conway Village Fire District Commissioners.

The work done on the High Street cemetery has been completed and it was done well.

Waldorf School: Don’t miss the 28th Annual Children’s Winter Craft Faire today from 10 to 2 pm. Check out the events and craft items for purchase.

Gibson Center: Fran’s Flick, “Labor Day”, will be aired on Tuesday, November 25 after lunch. The Center is closed for Thanksgiving, November 27 & 28.

Library: The Family Place Session #4 is on Monday at 10:30 am. On Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 am it’s Story Time with Shaunal for children ages 2-3. Wednesday at 10:30 am it’s Story Time for those under 2. The library is closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday.

UNH Extension: A new free program, the 4-H Sewing Club, is starting for young people ages 8-18. The first meeting will be December 5 from 6-7:30 pm and held at the Tamworth Library, 93 Main Street. Sewing machines will be provided, but those enrolled will be required to supply some of their own supplies. Registration is required. Call 447-3834.

On November 26, 27 and 28 the Omni Mount Washington Resort is offering some fun events for the family. There will be a turkey-trot, flag football, and crafts for sale. And Santa will be stopping by for the children.

Especially for those who have lost a loved one recently, the Visiting Nurse, Home Cure and Hospice Office is holding meetings for the next six weeks to help deal with such a loss. No pre-registration is required.

On December 2, the Mount Washington Valley Community Band will present a Christmas concert at the Nativity Lutheran Church at 7 pm. Admission is a donation. Join in the singing of carols and enjoy the program.
