Happy Mother’s Day to all moms! It’s your day; enjoy it!

There was a short selectmen’s meeting on Wednesday. Pope Security has done their work at town hall replacing emergency lighting where needed. Kathy reported she found the Eversource conference useful. She learned the town can apply for a rebate based upon its recent Rinnai heater purchase. Rob Nadler reported on North Country Council meetings he attended. Albany’s plan to upgrade Route 16 and fix the shoulders is still in their planning and the safety improvements will be taken up soon. Another meeting he reported on was the Economic Council. They are looking for someone to take over Theresa Kennett’s position as she is leaving. He also reported on the Conservation Commission. Peter Carboni has been appointed as a delegate from the Planning Board to the Conservation Commission. The Conservation people are working with the Forest Service on a road from the DOT lot off the Kancamagus to the Albany fields. Though the Forest Service will not pay for the road, they will help with the building of it. Curtis Coleman will cost out the project. June Johnson reported that the Albany Historical Society is still looking for more people to participate. Please consider this worthwhile group and join them at their meeting May 19 at 11am at Banner’s Restaurant.
