Have a wonderful Memorial Day and remember those who fought for our country and especially those who died for it. Town offices will be closed on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.

Go on line to albanynh.org to view the May 14 Selectmen’s meeting and what was discussed. There is an informative explanation of the Right To Know law as well as a lengthy discussion of a bike lane on Passaconaway Road.

Gibson Center: The Center will be closed on Monday, Memorial Day. Fran’s Flick for Tuesday, May 27 is The Lone Ranger. (Remember that series??) The local artist display is still up at the Center. Stop by for lunch and/or Tea with the Artist on Thursday, May 29, at 3pm. Please RSVP for the Tea (356-3231).There will be a blood pressure screening at lunchtime on Thursday. On Friday, May 30, (the traditional Memorial Day) there will be a Washington, DC slide show. See the memorials and historic buildings of our nation’s capital. On Saturday, May 31(3:30pm to 11:30pm) join a group to see Corvettes Doo Wop Review. The dinner is on your own at Fat Tony’s Italian Grill. Call 356-3231 to make reservations and/or for home pick-up. Don’t forget to register for the AARP Driver Safety Program to be held on June 13. Call the number above.

Library: The library will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day observance. On Tuesday at 1pm the Parkinson’s Support Group will meet. At 6:30pm Tim Caverly will lead a discussion an Allagash Tales.

Camille Rose, Queen Honeybee of the Red Hats, brought the ladies to Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm Kitchen on Wednesday for the group’s monthly luncheon. On May 30 you can all visit the farm and enjoy their country dinner made from produce raised on the farm. Advanced registration is required though. Call 323-7591. There will be two seatings: 5:30pm and 7pm. Enjoy the food and look in at the many workshops. From 10am to noon check out the chicken raising area. On May 29, the farm will host the Community Art Group at the Education Center. This is a free weekly gathering (2:30 to 4pm).

Mountain Top Music Center’s Youth Ensembles will give their final performance for the season at Salyards Center May 29 at 7pm.

Ossipee Town Hall will be the host facility for Contra Dancing and Brier Hill and band on May 23 at 7pm.
For your calendar: Enjoy a Taste of the Bearcamp Valley Food Festival to be held on Sunday, June 8 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Hobbs Taverns & Brewing Company, 2415 White Mountain Highway, West Ossipee. This event is a fundraiser for Bearcamp Valley School and Children’s Center.
