At this Wednesdayâs Selectmenâs meeting a request was made by Steve Parker to have the town supply him with one large and one small dog cage as well as a pole to bring a dog under control. If you have a cage you are no longer using, please call Kathy and let her know you can donate it. It was voted that two properties taken for non-payment of taxes be put up for bid. One is a mobile home in Golden Oaks, valued at $10,000, with an opening bid of $7777 and the other is a two acre parcel of land on Bald Hill Road valued at $20,000 with an opening bid of $9000. The selectmen voted to take a loan from Eversource for the work to replace the lights both inside and outside of Town Hall. By using this method, the cost of electricity to the town will remain the same for a year and after that the cost will be reduced due to the savings accrued by the changing of the bulbs. Be advised that Jason, the townâs assessor, will be going around the town doing statistical updating of properties. Jack Rose reported that the Conservation Commission voted to authorize Pete Holland to cut the front part of the forest field and deal with the overgrown brush as well at a cost of no more than $1200. Richard Hiland reported that the Planning Board continues its reviewing of the site plan regulations.
The town offices will be closed on July 6 for Independence Day.
The Albany Historical Chapel will be open July 1 from 1 to 3pm.

Gibson Center: On Tuesday after lunch join others to see Dwight Smithâs the Gertrude Emma Slide Show, a history of train travel over the years. On July 2 enjoy the Independence Day Cookout Eat In. There will be special food and patriotic songs followed by Bingo. Bring a prize. The Center will be closed on Friday, July 3. Enjoy the Craft and Artisan Festival on the lawn July 4 and 5 from 10am to 5pm.
Library: On Monday, June 29 at 6pm see the Food Film Festival part IV: Big Night. One Tuesday at 10:30am itâs Story Time for Twos. At 4pm thereâs Lego Club. On Wednesday at 10:30am itâs Story Time for Babies and Toddlers. At 4pm itâs time to make your Hero Mask and Cape. On Thursday at 10:30am itâs Story Time for Ages Three and Up. At 4pm join Gardening at the Library.
The First Church of Christ, Congregational in North Conway will hold its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 27 from 11am to 7pm. There will be crafters, a raffle, music and games as well as a free concert by Dennis and Davy and Red and Lorraine Gallager from 4 to 7pm.

⢠There will be a Tasting and Tours at Tuckerman Brewing Company (66 Hobbs St.) from noon to 6pm. The first 100 people will receive a free Conway 250th engraved beer glass.
⢠From 3 to 9:30pm there will be entertainment in Schouler Park. At 3pm the N. Conway Color Guard will present the Colors and the National Anthem.
⢠At 4:15pm itâs the Second Annual Chili Hot Dog Eating Contest to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
⢠At 5:15pm enjoy the Abby Miller band followed by the Discount Gigolos live music.
⢠At 9:30pm there will be fireworks.
There will be limited parking in Conway on the holiday. Save yourself the hassle and take the Scenic Railroad from West Main Street train depot to Schouler Park station at 2pm, 5, 6 and 7pm and return at about 10:15 pm after the fireworks. This is the only returning train. Cost is $5 round-trip for adults and children over 4. Those under 4 itâs $1. Tickets by reservation only: call 356-5251.

The Colonial Theatre in Bethlehem presents its Annual Film Festival starting July 9 with âHoly Rollersâ a film inspired by true events that takes a serious look at the pull between the secular and the sacred. There will be free refreshments on the Colonial Patio beginning at 6:30pm. The filmâs director Kevin Asch will speak about what it takes to make a career in the film business. After the film there will be time for Q and A.

Sandy Stowell has been busy entertaining family visitors; her daughter Lisa and grandchildren. Now Sandy has an opportunity to use her culinary skills and they are many. Lisa and grandson Cody are both military and have taken this occasion to visit before they are redeployed.
Today is the 56th wedding anniversary for Stan and Dorothy Solomon. What is that saying? Oh yes, how quickly the years go when youâre having fun!
