October 23, 2015

It was learned at the Wednesday selectmen’s meeting that the MS1 summary evaluation has been completed and there is little change. The 2015 town’s evaluation is $107million plus utilities which is very nearly the same as 2014. Two selectmen (Jack Rose being absent) signed the Emergency Management Performance Grant agreement for the surveillance cameras which specifies that Albany will pay half of the $6298 cost. Albany’s portion will be paid from monies not expended in the budget. On another issue, there will be another chance to bid on the mobile home located in Piper Meadows. The bid has been lowered because Steve Parker has waived the back rent. The selectmen will advertise the bid on Craig’s list as well as in the Conway Daily Sun. Cathy Ryan reported she is still trying to speak with Citizens Bank. Kelly Robitaille wants a written proposal for changing the tax billing dates and would like the school board to be part of the process.

Fortunately, two of Albany’s residents who spent a few days at Memorial Hospital recently have returned home. Welcome home Maxine McKenzie and Richard Wales and keep well.

There was a rescue on Mount Chocorua this week. Kathy Boss of Wilton fell and broke her ankle. She was transferred by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and is doing fine.

Only one more week in October and we are headed into winter and some really cold weather. But in the meantime with the fall colors still in bloom and the days with some warmth, get out and enjoy yourself. Have a great week!
